Finally Made It to Australia

It was a pretty intense day of flying. I left on May 2nd from Phoenix and made it to Sydney on May 4th. Only had about 250 pounds of luggage to push around on a cart and navigate through customs. Landed around 6 am local time and a little after 7 am was able to see Aram and head to the house.  Aram surprised me with flowers.

We took a taxi back to the house and I was able to see my first glimpse of the Opera House and go over the Harbour Bridge. First thing was to shower...pretty humid and lugging all that luggage was a workout.

Aram, Brooks, and I ended up walking to a restaurant for breakfast on the harbor and I could see where the ferry comes. We then came back to the house so I Could take a little nap. Then we ran all the errands.  Got my phone set up (if you have an iPhone you can iMessage me, otherwise use WhatsApp). Then went and got the bank account done.

There are "malls" underground by the train stations. It's literally like a city underground. And I had no clue where we were going.  It was pretty funny seeing the brand Carhartt in Sydney has been done up for hipsters (so Dad, you're a hipster 😂).

We did a little shopping to get some things for the house and then took the train to the Uni. I literally felt like I was walking up to Hogwarts.  There is even a grest hall there!  Ended up getting a beer at one of the bars on campus. After that, I started hitting a wall and crashed. Ended up sleeping for almost 15 hours (did wake up around 3:30 am to eat dinner) and ended up waking up when Aram got up for the day.

Aram had class today, so I just woke up and unpacked all my suitcases.  Luckily we have a really big closet :)  Brooks and I went for lunch at a Thai restaurant close to the house and saw a turkey on the way there.

After Aram did some homework, we went for a walk across the Sydney Harbor Bridge, saw the Sydney Opera House and then grab a pint at a rooftop bar down by the harbor.  Overall a great day of exploring :)
