Rose Seidler House

Here in Australia, there aren't very many mid-century modern homes.  This was a unique one to go see here. Apparently the designer was told by his brother, who was already living in Australia at the time to ship any furniture for the house he wanted because there was no way he was going to find that here.

The house was completed in 1950, and was apparently the "most talked about house in Sydney".  Harry Seidler built the house for his parents, Rose and Max.  This actually helped his career take off internationally.

Wallaby out in the wild

This was cool to see, but still didn't quite compare to Frank Lloyd Wright work, but these types of homes definitely don't really exist here in Sydney.  I feel like people here in Sydney don't really like change and things that are different, so Seidler was definitely a trailblazer.
